Sonia Pujol, PhD

Assistant Professor of Radiology, Harvard Medical School

Sonia is the Director of Outreach of the Neuroimage Analysis Center (NAC) and Director of Training of the 3D Slicer open-source software platform. She also serves as course instructor in medical image analysis in the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST), and as lecturer in research methodology and artificial intelligence in the Radiology Residency Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Since joining Harvard University, she has been teaching medical image analysis and delivering hands-on training workshops using 3D Slicer at major U.S. national universities, which include Stanford, MIT, UCLA, USC, Dartmouth, UNC, Johns Hopkins, and UCSF, and international academic centers and hospitals in Europe, Japan and China. Over the past 14 years, she has trained more than 3,500 clinicians and scientists on a wide range of topics that include image segmentation, image registration, 3D visualization, diffusion tensor imaging, image-guided therapy and artificial intelligence.
